Biography

My name is Rachel Furman Eilat.
Flute player in The Revolution Orchestra and in Hamelin Quartet -
two ensembles with a unique musical impact, which give their audience unforgettable experiences.

In parallel, I teach in the Conservatories of Rishon LeZion and Kiryat Ono, and I perform in a variety of educational-musical projects in front of youth and children around Israel.
Over the years I have played flute and piccolo in The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, The Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion (as a freelance musician), The Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and more.

In the recent two years, I came to realise that I want to meet with you from a new angle - through my personal life story.
I created a musical lecture named “Soundtrack of My Life”, in which I share my personal stories with you, those which shaped the musician and person that I am. I invite you to read further in the “Lecture” tab.

What happened on the way?
I began studying the Flute at the age of 8, when my Mom insisted that I acquire musical education. Up to my academic studies, I studied in The Israel Conservatory of Music, Tel Aviv, with teacher Rami Tal.
During my studies I participated in The Young Philharmonic Orchestra, I studied in Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, performed as a soloist with different orchestras and won excellence scholarships from Ronen Foundation and The America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF).
Later I served in the IDF (Israeli Defence Force) as a musician and achieved a token of excellence from the Main Education Officer at the time, Avner Paz Tzuk.
Upon finishing my military service, I studied for a Bachelor Degree in Classical Flute at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, under the teacher Yossi Arenheim and with the full support of the Heseg Foundation.
During my degree, I had the opportunity to go on a student exchange program in The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, and study there with the most well renowned flutist of Hungary, Vera Oros
As I returned to Israel I studied and completed my Master Degree in The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (Tel Aviv University Campus) with teacher Guy Eshed

I play a 9k Muramatsu Flute
